Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend.  We couldn't have asked for better weather!  We visited my in-laws for a couple of hours in their backyard on Monday and I think I've gone through a whole bottle of aloe vera ever since - I got really sunburned!  It's much better today than it was.  Thanks goodness it's nothing that will prevent me from sewing as we have our 1st Annual Quilting Retreat this weekend!!!!  Today is my last day in the shop so I wanted to get an update out before leaving tomorrow.  Mary Pat and I are going up a day early so we can get set up.

Jo Morton's NEW Book, BANNER DAY, Has Arrived!
16 sensational projects — some with a patriotic theme — 68 pages plus 3 pull-out pages with appliqué designs in full size and layout for ease of use.  Don’t forget that just because a quilt is made in red and blue, you can make it in fall colors or reds and greens for the holidays!  Several of the quilts are traditional and would work year round.

Click here to go to YouTube to see the gorgeous projects from this book Jo showed at her Schoolhouse presentation at Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, Utah last month!  Then stop in the shop to pick up your copy.  Or, give us a call and we'll put your copy in the mail to you!  The book is $27 and Jo has done an unbelievable job again!

FREE Pattern for Jo Morton's new line Carolina is on the Andover website!
The free-to-use design using the “Carolina” fabric collection is now posted on the Andover Fabric’s website.  I love this quilt - traditional but also with a contemporary feel - visually exciting (and I absolutely LOVE half-square triangles!).

Click here to download the pattern from the Andover website and then stop in or call to order the fabrics to make this beauty!

On to a couple of reminders and updates!. . . .

Due to overwhelming demand, we are very excited to offer an additional session of our Woolie Women club! As you can probably guess, this is a gathering for all of you that love wool;  whether you"ve always wanted to learn to work with it or you just can"t seem to find the time at home to sit and stitch!  Lori Kabat, of Lily Anna Stitches, leads this bi-monthly gathering at the shop for you to learn, get inspired, and have some time to just get away and sit and stitch on those projects you never seem to have time to do at home!  At each gathering, in addition to Lori"s expertise (and the company of other "Woolie Women"!,) you will receive a FREE pattern that Lori has designed exclusively for attendees.  Stop in to take a look at the current month's project and FREE pattern!  You can sign up for one gathering at a time or all of them up front. Website Update
The company developing our new website is due to have a prototype to us by early next week - I can't wait to see it!  We're hoping to be up and running by mid-July.  With the new website, you'll be able to purchase the items we talk about in our email updates right online.  Many of you don't live in the area and have been requesting this from us for a while!  In the meantime, if there is something you would like to order please give us a call at the shop and we'd be happy to get it all packaged up and in the mail to you!

REMINDER - NOW CLOSED ON MONDAYS - PLEASE NOTE!
Just a quick reminder that we are now closed on Mondays.  Our new hours are Tue-Fri 10am-6pm and Sat 10am-3pm.

Well I think that's all I have for now!  We'll take lots of pictures at the retreat this weekend and post them on the website next week.  If you couldn't make it this year maybe you'll be able to join us next year!  Have a wonderful week and let us know if there's anything we can do for you!

Good Morning Everyone!

It was so great seeing all of you during the Northeast Wisconsin Quilter's Marathon!  They will be drawing the winners of the prizes soon.  As soon as I have the list I'll email it out!  Good luck to those of you who qualified!

You've heard me talk about the quilt that was being designed exclusively for us by a wonderful local designer, Cindy Vieau, using the Civil War Reunion line by Barbara Brackman of Moda.  We've had the quilt for a while now, just not the fabrics!  Well, we finally got ALL the fabric in and the kits are all set to go, as well as the patterns!  We are also hosting a class on this pattern where Cindy will teach her "tiNnt!" method of appliqué!  Here is info on the class and a picture of the quilt.

Cindy's "tiNnt!" (this is NOT needle turn!) Method of Appliqué Class
This is a hand appliqué class using a different technique for preparing your appliqué pieces.  If you LOVE the look of needle turn appliqué but have tried doing the needle turn method and have struggled then this is the class (and technique) for you!  Join Cindy in creating her beautiful new quilt, "Sue's Sampler", she designed exclusively for us using the new Civil War Reunion line from Barbara Brackman of Moda.  This is a 4-part class meeting monthly starting in May and running through August.  We have a limited number of kits available for the quilt and once you see the quilt in person you'll want the kit!!!  It has a beautiful stripe border and binding that just makes the quilt!  We have two sessions scheduled for this class so check your schedule and call or stop in to sign up!  Class is $45 + supplies.
