Woolie Women
Have you always wanted to work with wool and maybe you even bought a kit or pattern that inspired you, but then never had the confidence to get started? Or, have you worked with wool for a while now but there is something you’re just not happy with in your stitching or prep-work? Well then this is the gathering for you!
Lori Kabat, of Lily Anna Stitches, will lead a bi-monthly gathering at the shop for you to learn, get inspired, and have some time to just get away and sit and stitch on those projects you never seem to have time to do at home!
At each gathering, in addition to Lori’s expertise (and the company of other ‘Woolie Women’!,) you will receive a FREE pattern that Lori has designed exclusively for attendees.
You can sign up for one gathering at a time or all of them up front. Space is limited so be sure to sign up early to reserve your spot! Each gathering costs $10 and includes your FREE exclusive pattern!
Gatherings are the 4th Thursday of every other month starting in March from 6-8pm. Here are the dates of each gathering:

Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle

The art of quilting is rich in history. There are women, in untold numbers, who blazed the trail before us, leaving us with quilts and remnants of both fabrics and stories of how they lived, and what quilts meant to them. While the techniques of quilting for today’s quilter can be very different from those of yesteryear, why we quilt and what quilting means to us is very much the same. We make quilts for basic warmth on the bed in which we sleep, for family and friends, to mark special occasions, perhaps to raise money for a cause dear to our hearts, or for the pure joy of it. Like our quilting ancestors, we also come together, as women in kindred spirit, to sew and share, and tell of our lives, giving support to one another.
Please join us for this unique, bi-monthly club that will take you on a journey back in time. Gather together as the Prairie Women did, and hear anecdotal stories about their quilt making, and what daily life was like for those who traveled by wagon train on the Oregon Trail, to the lives of quilter’s during the Civil War, and the years of women’s suffrage for equal rights. Not only will you learn how our quilting ancestors created quilts by “Making-Do” with what they had, you will be invited to do so yourself!!!
At each gathering of the Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle, we hear from diary entries of the period, we cover tips and techniques to make a small reproduction quilt, and we follow prairie life of our period character, Elizabeth, through her letters to her mother and father back home. If you love quilt history, and want to learn more about what life was like in the Nineteenth Century, and about “Make-do” quilts, join us in experiencing the Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle.
This club meets every other month on the 2nd Saturday from 8am-10am, OR the 2nd Thursday from 1pm-3pm, OR from 6pm-8pm. The cost is $30 for the year. We started this club last October but you can join at anytime! Here is the schedule for the remaining gatherings:
| Thursday 1-3pm | Thursday 6-8pm | Saturday 8-10am | April | 14 | 14 | 9 | June | 9 | 9 | 11 | August | 11 | 11 | 13 |
